As an avid player of the game, it was an honour to have the opportunity to layout the 85 page Kinder World: The Artbook e-book.
Proposed two different scope options, with cost & timeframe estimates for each.
Reviewed supplied copy and chose appropriate imagery from the files supplied, writing captions to suit.
Adjusted order of copy when needed to better suit the flow of creative and sought client approval to do so.
Using a supplied text & background imagery only e-book as a base, created several templates with consistent paragraph styling to suit the different chapters in the image-heavy artbook.
Managed own time & client review process, with milestone check-ins to ensure everyone was aligned.
Retouched supplied landscape front cover image to better suit the portrait page layout.
Ensured document was both e-book ready (per the brief) and print-ready, in case the client wished to produce printed copies in future.
Before (left) and after (right) of front cover image retouch.
Balancing supplied copy with appropriate visuals.
Where appropriate, took inspiration from in-game UI for layouts.
Observed a pattern in the copy for the NPC pages, so created a template to suit.
Selected assets to complement copy & depict behind the scenes processes.
Data-merged the 21x artist pages from one template for the sake of efficiency, then customised the layouts of the artist creations as needed.
